Wandering Meadows Home Tour

The Graceful Spaces Austin team completed another incredible home organizing project that will surely leave you inspired!

With an incredible, elevated design and dreamy custom storage solutions, the Wandering Meadows home was an absolute treat to for our Austin team to organize. Drawing from our concierge-style Fresh Start service and the Signature Home Organizing we’re known for, we curated a tailored, functional experience that made our clients feel right at home.

The Kitchen

Welcome to every chef’s dream—gorgeous, clean counter space as far as the eye can see! Every zone in this beautiful kitchen was tailored to how our clients planned to use the area. Through our Fresh Start concierge service, we sourced, received, delivered, and organized a variety of kitchen essentials so our clients would feel at home from day one. This included carefully curating richer-toned functional decor and storage items to suit their taste and perfectly match the stunning kitchen design.

During our discovery phase, we sat down with our Austin clients and learned their habits, routines, and preferences to create useful and custom zones. Every detail can make a difference, from whether you’re right or left-handed to how often you bake. Our client is right-handed, so we created an intuitive setup with knives on the right of the island, followed by cutting boards and other heavy-use prep items. Our home organization experts used drawer dividers, Ziploc holders, and other inserts made from bamboo to match the wood in the kitchen and make everything look custom and intentional.

We designated a set of cabinets and drawers in the kitchen as a "snacking" pantry. In the drawers below, we used all-purpose bins from The Home Edit to house individual chip bags. Neat Method jars with brass tops perfectly matched the color theme of our client's home, while Neat Method brass metal baskets containing snack overflow rounded out the look.

This family loves to cook, so creating a space that would make working in the kitchen easy and enjoyable was important. We set up a cooking cabinet near the stove, with dividers to hold pans vertically, maximizing storage space. Each pan was stored next to the corresponding lid to avoid confusion while making meals.

The spice drawer, a vertical pull-out drawer created during the building process, was functional but ultimately impractical for our clients, who wanted visible spice descriptions. We fixed this issue by installing acrylic risers and laying the spices flat. It was a hit! Now, our clients can find what they need quickly without interrupting their cooking.

Our professional organizers added acrylic risers to increase spice drawer visibility

We used a similar philosophy under the sink, decanting the baking soda they use daily, so it looked nice and was easy to grab. Turntables, clear bins, and our signature drawer system were installed to keep cleaning products together and put heavy-use items like trash bags in easy reach.

Finally, our Austin team labeled every shelf throughout the kitchen so the household staff could easily incorporate and maintain the systems we put in place, including keeping a healthy backstock of cleaning supplies and ingredients.

The Pantry

Pantry organization is a crucial aspect of maintaining an efficient and functional kitchen space. A well-organized pantry ensures that all the essentials for a delicious meal are easily accessible, reducing cooking and meal preparation time.

Organized Austin Pantry Inspiration

To ensure the pantry complemented the aesthetics of the kitchen, the Graceful Spaces Austin team continued the gold and bamboo look into the pantry utilizing glass canisters with bamboo tops from Williams Sonoma, bamboo turntables, and gorgeous gold baskets from The Neat Method.

The Laundry & Craft Room

This space was built for function and serves several different purposes for the family. We were able to complete a fully stocked art zone while still saving room for basic laundry items. There’s also additional storage space for the dog wash station and mom also her own desk and storage for her Circuit machine. It’s beautiful and functional— an organizers dream!

the craft zone

A well-organized craft zone for kids is essential for a stress-free experience. Without clearly labeled categories, a craft zone quickly becomes a chaotic mess and that’s the last thing you want when you’re dealing with markers and paint, right?

For this craft loving family, the goal was to create a space where the kids were able to find and put away all of their materials independently. This meant micro-categorizing and clearly labeling everything.

Acrylic drawer organizers are always our first choice for spaces that tend to get a little messy. They are dishwasher safe and come in a variety of sizes.

The Office

The office is an excellent example of how careful zone planning and categorizing can accommodate multiple categories in one space. We separated the cabinets into three main sections. The first section of cabinets was dedicated to business, with bins for client paperwork and other work documents. We used the black Bigso line from The Container Store for a sleek, clean look.

The second section was reserved for family paperwork. We organized the space to neatly fit everything from home manuals to contractor papers, making it easy to find things at a glance.

The final section was designated for all things "man cave," from space for his cigar humidor to storage for a bottle of bourbon with glasses.

We created a marketing zone in one drawer stocked with business cards, brochures, and envelopes. Black bamboo organizers sorted items by micro-category, ensuring contents wouldn't roll around when opening and closing the drawer.

A challenge with this room involved making space for our client's safe—we created an entire drawer to provide maximum security.

The Media Room

With cushy furniture and plenty of cozy blankets from Target—the media room is the perfect place to spend a lazy afternoon. The design was so warm and inviting, so we wanted to create snack storage that would complement, not compete, with the room's aesthetics.

The Ultimate Movie Snack Bar

Our clients wanted a fun theater feel in the media room, so we ordered tons of boxed candy, snacks and different flavor popcorn bags for viewers to grab before settling in.

The Primary Suite

A beautiful hutch in the primary suite was utilized for closet overflow and items that would typically be stored in a dresser. Felt baskets from Target and our go-to label holders from Neat Method created a streamlined look.

Her Closet

Who wouldn't want to get dressed here every day? Our goal with any primary closet is to implement thoughtful organization systems making the space functional and supportive of your daily routines.

For this particular client, she wanted her investment pieces, books she’s collected over the years, and memorable items on display everyday, which meant the Graceful Spaces team had the opportunity to style her shelving with all of our amazing pieces.

Acrylic risers and quilted handbag stuffers from the container store ensured all displays were beautiful and designed to showcase each handbag while maintaining its integrity. Our client struggled to fit all her jewelry in the closet drawers, so we used twelve oversized black stackers to give every piece home and leave plenty of room to grow.

Another area with limitations was the shoe zone, so we used two large linen baskets to house rubber and leather sandals, leaving more space for boots and heeled shoes.

Labeling the inside of the drawers is key to sustainability. The labels create boundaries and provide a gentle reminder that items that do not belong in that drawer need to be placed in their home.

We incorporated her collection of designer books with the help of styling risers, identifying opportunities to create beautiful focal points throughout.

PRO TIP: Running out of room in your accessory drawers? Try stacking organizers to maximize vertical drawer space while keeping everything in place.

His Closet

Our goal with this closet was to create the look and feel of an upscale men's boutique. We placed our client's suits and nice shoes front and center so they're the first thing you see when walking in.

Sleek hangers elevate the space, and we carried that design to the shelves above with charcoal bins for accessories. Our client wanted to designate an area for sentimental and favorite items, so we used black hat stands to display his cowboy hat collection, along with a stand to hold the watch given to him by his father.

Space wasn't an issue for our client, so we focused on tailoring zones to his morning routine, making moving from one spot to the next easy. Our client's favorite addition? A large drawer dedicated exclusively to loungewear.

PRO TIP: We aim for a boutique feel in many of our closet designs so wardrobe and accessories can shine. Use stands, hooks, and dividers to add layers that create a moment while maintaining visibility.

The Kids’ Rooms

To complement the design and to provide sustainable solutions we added Montauk Woven Bins from The Container Store to the kid’s closets. Each basket includes clearly marked labels to ensure everyone in the home stays on the same page.

PRO TIP: One of the most important rules of creating kid’s spaces is to only keep accessible the options to wear for the current season. In every Grace Spaces closet, you’ll find systems that store items that are too big, too small, or out of season.

Sustainable Solution: For every kids closet we’re always adding a “memory bin”. Stressing the importance of being able to identify what items are truly special but also understanding there is a boundary for how many special items are kept without overwhelming the every day function.

Pro Tip: Provide incentives for keeping up a space and create solutions that are easy to maintain. This might even mean that items such as swim and underwear are never folded but a simple win for kids is that they are always in the correct basket, bin or drawer.

The Playroom

Just when you thought this home couldn’t get any better! By providing designated spaces for toys and games, the kids can easily access and enjoy their favorite activities while learning to take responsibility for their belongings. The key to sustainability in a kids space? Easy to read labels!

To create a streamlined look while also ensuring the kids were able to view their toys, the Graceful Spaces team utilized these fabric bins by mDesign. Paired with the Poppin Storage Box in blush from The Container Store, this space is beautiful and functional!

A Playroom Essential

As with any playroom, the biggest challenge (besides keeping it clean) is finding a home for all the little things. Our go-to solution? Vinyl zipper bags by Marie Kondo. Available in multiple sizes, these bags allow your kids to see the contents on the inside and is the perfect solution for items such as toy figures, cards, crayons/markers and even games.
