The Graceful Spaces Iconic I’On Home Tour

PART ONE

We are so excited about our latest project, a charming home in Mount Pleasant’s gorgeous I’On neighborhood.

Just a short drive from historic downtown Charleston, I’On is a haven for families, offering plenty of outdoor amenities and community spaces within walking distance.

Meet Megan Molten

Graceful Spaces worked with interior designer Megan Molten to create a setup perfect for an active, growing family. Our clients had worked with an organizer before, so we took things to the next level with thoughtful zone-planning and micro-categories.

HERE’S WHAT WE DID:

- Enhanced and restructured the existing organization

- Upgraded the kids’ closets with user-friendly, seasonal systems

- Sourced products to create perfect-fit storage solutions

- Established grab n’ go zones throughout the space

Form & Function

The Iconic I’On is the perfect example of how design and organization work together to transform the look and feel of a home. Everything we brought into the space, from functional decor to meticulously sourced storage items, fit interior designer Megan Molten’s vision.

DID YOU KNOW?

Want to bring this same attention to detail to your home? Our Charleston home organizers will work with you and your interior designer to understand the aesthetic goals of each space, so our systems pair together nicely.

A Family-Friendly Kitchen

Our organizational secret for families on the go? It's all about the zones. From an energy zone with decanted protein powders and post-workout snacks to a baking area with micro category-friendly drawer dividers, we kept things as intuitive as possible.

We brought functional decor from Megan's shop, like these soap dispensers, to complement the space's overall design. Under the sink, we used cabinet and wall space, creating designated spots for daily-use items and overflow.

PRO TIP:

Organization isn't always "one-size-fits-all." Use a flexible storage rack like this expandable organizer to fit pots, pans, and trays of different sizes.

A Purposeful Pantry

An organized pantry is essential for a busy family. We were limited in width in the pantry, which meant getting creative with storage solutions. Slimmer profile metal baskets with bamboo handles fit perfectly next to our go-to woven baskets.

Home Edit stackables and canisters make ingredients accessible and take the mystery out of restocking, while expandable can organizers maximize vertical space.

PRO TIP: Focus on how you use a space instead of how you think it should be used. Our client had a lot of bulky baking items, but they weren't frequent bakers, so we redesigned the layout to fit their everyday needs

Kid-Friendly Spaces

We like to create systems that empower everyone in the family to stay organized, including the kids! In the closet, we implemented some of our tried and true methods with bins for Next Size, Next Season, Donation, and Return to Sender. The white containers with wood lids give the space a clean look, while labeling makes for easy clean-up. In the kitchen, we put a lunch zone at kid-level to make meal prep a family affair.

PRO TIP: Kids can start organizing at any age. For toddlers and preschoolers, try labeling bins with pictures so they can identify what goes where.
