PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT: BRANCH BASICS FOR NONTOXIC LIVING
Embracing a nontoxic lifestyle and creating a healthier home can feel intimidating. It’s normal to feel unsure about where to start — to question whether cleaner products truly work, how to make meaningful swaps, and which changes will make the biggest difference.
At Graceful Spaces, we’ve walked this journey ourselves. Many members of our team are deeply passionate about living more consciously, having made gradual, intentional changes within their own homes and families. Through that experience — and through our Purely Organized service — we’ve been able to help clients take those same steps with confidence and clarity.
Purely Organized was created to make the pursuit of a low-tox lifestyle feel approachable and achievable. From guiding clients through thoughtful product swaps to helping them source safer essentials and build sustainable daily systems, this service bridges the gap between inspiration and implementation. We meet clients where they are — whether they’re just beginning to explore cleaner alternatives or ready to fully transition their household — and walk alongside them every step of the way.
It’s individuals like Allison Evans, co-founder of Branch Basics, who have made this shift feel both attainable and inspiring. Through their education, innovation, and commitment to human health, Branch Basics has set a new standard for what intentional, nontoxic living can look like — proving that small changes, made consistently, can have an incredible impact on everyday life.
Embracing Nontoxic Living with Branch Basics
I recently connected with Allison for what became an insightful conversation about all things nontoxic living, building a business, and doing it all with a focus on family. (Listen to the full conversation here.)
The beginning days of Branch Basics
“That summer changed my entire life.”
Fifteen years ago, best friends Allison and Kelly spent a transformative summer in the Texas Hill Country. After years of struggling with PCOS and searching for lasting relief, Allison turned to her aunt — someone she knew could offer a different perspective. What began as a season of rest and recovery soon became the foundation for a lifelong mission to live cleaner, healthier, and with greater intention.
After a summer free from harmful chemicals — and pain — they worked with Allison’s Aunt Marilee to start Branch Basics.
They were simply looking to remove toxins and live a healthier life, which eventually blossomed into a business with a mission to help others do the same.
“I am so grateful for that season of my life that woke me up. I would have never cared about my health or what I was putting in my body. And because I went through that season, I was forced to care.”
—Allison Evans, Co-Founder of Branch Basics
Building more than a business—an industry leader
Branch Basics was born out of necessity — and a deep, personal desire to create a healthier way of living. What began as a search for healing evolved into a mission to redefine what “clean” truly means. At the heart of the company is a singular priority: human health. Every product, formula, and decision reflects that commitment — one they hope will inspire other brands to raise their own standards and put people first.
“We want to create a standard of clean that will inspire other companies to look at their formulations and spend a little bit more money on sourcing.”
—Allison Evans, Co-Founder of Branch Basics
It’s so encouraging to find other companies and businesswomen who care deeply about not only their products but the people who use them.
Highlighting information Allison shared, we’ve curated an easy-to-use guide on all things Branch Basics. Whether you’ve been using the products for years or you’re just now exploring nontoxic living, there’s something insightful here for you!
Branch Basics Product FAQs
Curiosity often sparks change — and when it comes to nontoxic living, the right information can make all the difference. Below, we’re unpacking the most common questions about Branch Basics, along with thoughtful insights and product tips to help you make the switch with confidence.
“But it’s so expensive!”
While this isn’t an uncommon hurdle to making the shift to a healthier home, the math might just surprise you! When you look at the cost breakdown, each spray bottle is just under $4. One bottle of concentrate makes 3 soap bottles, 3 all-purpose bottles, 3 window and glass, 3 bathroom bottles, and does 64 loads of laundry. And you never buy another spray bottle again!
“How are the Branch Basics products different from regular cleaning supplies?”
When you really look at what we currently see in the cleaning aisle, you have products made up of water and lots of toxic chemicals. The difference is in the type of surfactants Branch Basics uses. As Allison explained, “surfactants make water wetter, essentially.” The way these products are formulated increases their ability to remove grease, grime, and germs in a way that’s effective and safe for your entire household.
“Is there anything you can’t use Branch Basics on?”
Branch Basics suggests not spraying the concentrate on MDF (modified density fiber) board because it can actually pull out the formaldehyde.
“When will you be in all Target stores?”
Branch Basics is currently in about 650 Target stores. They’ll be available in all Target stores within the next year!
—My favorites—
We use Branch Basics as our:
fruit and veggie wash
counter spray
stain remover
bathroom cleaner
window spray and glass cleaner
even to clean the floors and dust!
As you can see, Branch Basics is such an asset to have around the home! It’s a clean, clever, and extremely well thought out product line from people who truly care.
I’ve literally used it to remove RED WINE from a white carpet and it came RIGHT UP!
Branch Basics Product Tips from Co-Founder Allison Evans
While you may think nontoxic cleaning solutions will be limiting (think: tough stains, pesticides on produce, and travel options) — the possibilities are surprising! Below are some of our favorite ways to maximize clean living with Branch Basics.
Use Oxygen Boost for clothing stains, but make sure to fully submerge items.
Oxygen boost doesn't contain bleach, but it can strip the color from clothes. To avoid this, make sure to submerge all of stained clothes underwater and then put the oxygen boost in the sink or in the drum. You want to avoid the product clumping and sitting on your clothes—that’s what leads to discoloration.
Explore the foamer concentrate as eye makeup remover!
While there’s not yet an official “skincare line,” the foamer bottle of the concentrate is a great option for eye makeup remover.
Fruit and veggie wash two ways:
When it comes to using the concentrate to clean produce, you can either 1. Spray and rinse or 2. Soak fruits and veggies in a bowl. You really can’t get it wrong because the concentrate is so clean!
Take Branch Basics on a trip with their travel option.
Yes! There’s a Branch Basics travel option. Christina and her family took it with them when they visited Nicaragua.
Try the concentrate with upholstery and even carpet!
You can use the concentrate on upholstery. Allison also mentioned there’s a Houston carpet cleaner who uses the concentrate in his machine, which pulls out an unbelievable amount of dirt from the carpet!
Simplify Your Switch to a Healthier Home with Branch Basics
If you’re new to Branch Basics, getting started is simple!
The Cleaning Essentials Kit is the perfect setup and includes:
32-ounce concentrate
3 bottles (either plastic or glass)
You buy this kit once (you never need to buy the bottles again) and you’ll be shocked how long this concentrate lasts! The concentrate is what’s used to create all the other cleaners — for windows, stains, bathroom, and more.
Tip: You don't have to be exact with the measurements for the fill bottles.
Allison shared that she’s not exact with her measurements. She also noted you can absolutely stretch the concentrate by not using as much — and it’ll still be just as effective! (Branch Basics truly has your best interests in mind at every possible turn.)
