The Cedar & Oak Home Tour
This home is the product of partnership — where design and organization moved together with shared purpose. Cedar & Oak shaped the architectural and interior design foundation; Graceful Spaces layered in systems that support daily living with ease.
A home where beauty and function are deeply intertwined.
We’re endlessly grateful for the kind of client relationships that don’t end with a project — they evolve, deepen, and carry into the next chapter of someone’s life. This Cedar & Oak home is one of those chapters. After organizing this family’s previous home, they invited us back as they built their new one — trusting us to create systems that felt as intentional as the spaces themselves.
Custom-built with care, this home reflects what matters most to the family who lives here — connection, gathering, and memory-making woven into the architecture. It’s a space designed to support everyday living as much as celebration, with room for growth, creativity, and the simple beauty of routine. Their needs go beyond storage — think independence for little hands, thoughtful flow for homeschooling, and purposeful function that meets them wherever life happens.
That clarity of vision gave us the opportunity to layer function into the design from the beginning, working alongside Cedar & Oak to ensure beauty and practicality never competed, but moved together as one. Throughout the home, details speak to who they are — a vintage phone near the back entry, a wrapping station ready for generosity, a cabinet dedicated to guest welcome baskets. Every moment has meaning — shaped thoughtfully by Lauren Williamson and honored through the organization that followed.
Our role was to carry that intention forward, refining systems that make everyday living feel effortless. Quiet organization that supports the day, not steals the scene. Function that’s felt, not seen.

THE CEDAR & OAK TEAM
Founded by Lauren and Holt Williamson, Cedar & Oak brings a level of intentionality to homebuilding that aligns beautifully with our own values. Their team works hand-in-hand with clients to ensure every selection — architectural, structural, and aesthetic — reflects personal vision and daily rhythm. Offering full-service support across custom builds, interior design, architecture, and furnishings, they create homes that feel deeply lived-in from day one.
Working alongside Lauren was all ease and synergy. Her thoughtful decision-making, open collaboration, and eye for detail are woven into every corner of this home. The touches she incorporated — subtle, heartfelt, deeply considered — are a masterclass in how meaningful even the smallest moments in a space can be.
Our partnership with Cedar & Oak spans more than this home — we’ve worked alongside their team on multiple projects, including the much-loved home of Emily Travis. You can tour that space here.
Kitchen Organization
Noteworthy Details
The Baking Zone: The client does lots of baking by herself and with the kids. We reimagined the canisters we sourced in their previous home, giving them new life and expanding the set to create a complete, seamless collection. The result is functional, uniform, and beautiful.
Cooking Essentials: Just steps from the baking area sits the heart of everyday meal preparation. Spices were organized on risers inside a drawer beside the stove for one-handed reach, while wooden utensils are housed directly opposite for natural flow during cooking. No unnecessary movement — just intuitive rhythm.
Mornings Simplified: Zones exist to simplify — grouping items by task to eliminate unnecessary steps. The breakfast zone reflects this perfectly. The toaster, spreads, plates, and utensils sit together within arm’s reach so mornings unfold with ease. One place, one purpose, one streamlined moment in the day.
Wellness Within Reach: Natural wellness plays an important role in this home, especially for the kids. Essential oils and daily-use items were stored in a shallow drawer on acrylic spice risers, allowing little hands to see and access what they need without assistance.
Pantry Organization
Noteworthy Details
A Smaller Footprint, Maximum Function: Though the pantry footprint was modest, intentional zoning allowed the space to work harder than its size suggests. Strategic product placement and thoughtful containment kept the interior feeling open, not overcrowded — proof that well-planned storage can make even the smallest square footage feel expansive.
Snack Independence for the Kids: One of the family’s priorities was allowing the kids autonomy with snacks. We placed child-friendly items in low drawers so little hands can reach without assistance, encouraging independence, choice, and flow throughout the day. A simple decision with meaningful impact.
Canisters, Refreshed & Reinvisioned: Rather than replacing what already worked, we reimagined her existing canisters — previously displayed on the counter in their last home, now tucked neatly into drawers for a more streamlined footprint. Updated labels and new positioning gave the system a refined, refreshed feel while honoring her earlier investment in product.
Dining Room Organization
Noteworthy Details
The 1800s cash register: The standout of this dining room is the 1800s cash register — a historic piece the client discovered and immediately envisioned as functional art. Built seamlessly into the cabinetry, it now houses table linens, placemats, and entertaining essentials. Our team organized each drawer with intention, honoring her vision while making this heirloom work beautifully for everyday hosting.
Laundry Room & Linen Closet Organization
Noteworthy Details
Upstairs Laundry Room: Because the kids are responsible for their own laundry, the layout needed to empower independence. We worked closely with the client to determine what items they needed to access most often, then organized drawers with clarity and simplicity so the system supports them — not the other way around.
Downstairs Laundry Room: Designed as the true hub of the home, this space was created with future flexibility in mind. One of the client’s requests was a built-in gift wrapping station, so we outfitted the inside of the cabinetry with a personalized, purpose-driven setup that will evolve with her needs over time.
Linen & Overflow Closet: More than linens. This multipurpose closet holds guest essentials, pool towels, picnic blankets, and seasonal overflow — plus it functions as a family drop zone. We organized it to make high-turnover items easy to grab, restock, and return, keeping a heavily used space calm and intuitive.
Primary Suite Organization
Noteworthy Details
A Private Entry to the Suite: It’s not every day that a primary suite begins with its own private foyer. This transitional space acts as the quiet connector between the bedroom, bathroom, and closets — a moment of calm before entering the most personal rooms in the home.
His and Hers Closet: We tilted shelves for improved visibility, added drawer dividers and adjustable acrylic clutch organizers, and upgraded hangers for a unified, elevated look. The client owned baskets she loved, so we integrated them intentionally and supplemented where needed to complete the system. Lauren designed a desk at the center of the closet, where Stackers quietly organize jewelry inside the drawers — accessible, visible, effortless.
A Dedicated Space for Departure: Hidden beneath the stairs sits one of the most unique features in the suite — a dedicated travel closet. Designed to streamline packing, this space keeps luggage, travel toiletries, and essentials grouped together so departures are quick, calm, and beautifully simple.
The Beautiful Bathroom: Overlooking the garden, this bathroom reflects Cedar & Oak’s signature balance of beauty and purpose. Every detail was designed with real family life in mind—ample counter space, intentional drawer configurations, and zones that support both morning routines and evening wind-downs. Our team organized the space to keep daily essentials accessible without disrupting the serene visual design.
Kids’ Bedroom Organization
Noteworthy Details
Growth-Ready Storage: We introduced clearly defined bins for next size, hand-me-downs, and seasonal accessories — systems designed to evolve alongside the kids rather than need to be reinvented. As they grow, the storage grows with them.
Dress-Up Cabinet: Imaginative play deserved its own home. The girls’ dress-up wardrobe was given a dedicated cabinet, organized for quick access and simple cleanup so creativity feels effortless, not overwhelming. Imaginative play deserved its own home. The girls’ dress-up wardrobe now lives inside a dedicated cabinet, organized to make creativity easy to reach and easy to put away. Drawer organizers were incorporated to corral small accessories that otherwise tend to disappear into clutter — keeping bows, jewelry, and tiny treasures visible, contained, and simple to maintain.
Refreshed Product: Rather than replace what already worked, we integrated existing bins from their previous home and layered in new selections where needed. The blend feels cohesive, familiar, and fresh — a natural extension of organization they already loved.
Kid-Friendly Setup: Everyday items stay within arm’s reach so independence is supported, while lesser-used pieces are stored higher to maintain order. A balanced system — freedom without chaos, structure without restriction.
Home Library Organization
Noteworthy Details
This library is easily one of the coziest spaces in the home — a room made for slowing down, curling up, and getting lost in a story. Books and resources were micro-categorized to create clear boundaries within the shelves, allowing little ones to easily find what they’re looking for and confidently return items to their proper place. Thoughtful labeling was key here — subtle enough not to interrupt the aesthetic, powerful enough to maintain order.
To support accessibility for the kids, we utilized Target Felt Bins, one of our go-to solutions for children’s spaces. They’re lightweight, durable, and perfectly suited for high-touch categories that need structure without adding visual clutter.
Product Spotlight
A longtime Graceful Spaces staple, Target’s felt bins are our go-to for kids’ spaces. Lightweight, soft, and surprisingly durable, they corral the chaos without adding visual bulk — the kind of product that quietly does its job and keeps the whole room running smoothly.

Homeschool Room Organization
Noteworthy Details
A System Built for Real-Life Learning: With multiple children moving through this room throughout the week, the homeschool cabinets needed to work hard — quietly, efficiently, and without friction. Clear categories, intuitive placement, and zones that reset quickly at day’s end keep the space calm and consistent, supporting focus rather than distracting from it. Everyday use feels simple. Cleanup feels even simpler.
Intentional Product, Minimal Visual Noise: We chose clear, versatile bins in varied sizes so the family can pull, use, and return supplies with ease. Nothing complicated — just smart product used well, doing exactly what it needs to do. The result is structure without overwhelm, flexibility without chaos.
Guest Space Organization
Noteworthy Details
Welcome Baskets: Creating guest baskets was high on her priority list, so we dedicated an upstairs drop zone just outside the guest room — and conveniently near the laundry room — with everything needed to assemble one quickly. The closet also stores pool towels on lower shelves for easy accessibility to the kids. Champagne gold labels elevate the space, adding quiet refinement to a highly functional setup.
